The Hidden Sphere
(of Artistic Concerns) Cecil Orion Touchon

Mastercraftsman work in the communities where they find themselves.

Since creating commodities for a vast market is not their concern
they tend to keep small studios and few apprentices.
Though they happily use devices that help to simplify life,
their intention is to spend time with their families and friends
enjoy their living space and lead a simple and balance life. [1]

Though they hear news of the other master craftsman
from around the world, they are content to admire from afar.
Knowing that the place in which they find themselves
is as wonderful and extraordinary as any other. [2]

footnotes

[1]    The true man of God sits in the midst of his fellow-men, and rises and eats and sleeps and marries and buys and sells and gives and takes in the bazaars and spends the days with other people, and yet never forgets God even for a single moment.

Abu Sa’id Ibn Abi’l-Khayr (967-1049)

[2]  ...These souls know one another by smell, like horses. Though one be in the East and the other in the West, they still feel joy and comfort in each other's talk, and one who lives in a later generation than the other is instructed and consoled by the word of his friend.
Abu Sa’id Ibn Abi’l-Khayr
